Metric

Metric, a group originally formed in Toronto, Canada sparked my interest when I first heard some of their stuff on ABC's Grey's Anatomy (A great source for undiscovered artists). I immediately feel in love with them and am currently an avid fan.

Metric is an awesome group, with a very eclectic feel. I really enjoy their music because the lead singer is a female with a very unique and distinct voice. They also implement sounds that are not very traditional. A few of my personal favorites include "Monster Hospital," and "Help I'm Alive."  This song "Police and the Private" another one of my favorites, really interested me because of its different french feel.

If you are interested in Metric check out their myspace page or you can buy their music on itunes.

Annie

from velli magazine,finland
"Pop with strange edges" is what Annie calls her music. I would have to agree. Her electronica pop has a retro yet futuristic feel to it. Annie is a fabulous music artist who grew up in Norway. She currently has four albums and two singles out. I heard about Annie a few years ago, when I got a complimentary download of her song "Me Plus One" from itunes. It only took a few seconds for me to fall in love with her unique music style.
If you are interested in Annie's music, you can buy her music on itunes or check out her myspace page.

Gloriana

So this band you might have heard of before. But as I was browsing on the internet I stumbled across one of their songs entitled "How far do you wanna go?"  and I really liked it. It has a country pop rock feel to it. It made me and my friend get out of our seats and start moving. The vibe is really up beat. If you like Rascall Flatts I really think you will enjoy their music. Check it out.

So some interesting facts...

The band features a unique mixture of two males and two females.
They will be touring with Taylor Swift.
They won an American Music Breakthrough Award this past year.

Cheyenne Kimball is a member of the band. Cheyenne had a show on MTV a few years ago when she was pursuing a career as a solo artist. One of her top selling songs was "Hanging on," which is definitely a Taylor Swift style song. She has obviously matured over the years and so has her music style. She sings and plays the mandolin for Gloriana.

Check out their music on itunes or go to the website.

Butterfly Boucher

Butterfly Boucher is an extraordinary music artist who started her career in her home country of Australia, and eventually found herself signing record deals in the U.S. I first heard her music when I bought the Grey's Anatomy soundtrack on itunes. The soundtrack from season 1 features her song "Life is Short" which is a song about how you can't avoid the irony of life, so you should just go out and seize every moment of it. Her lyrics are very poetic and her sound is that of a pop/rock persuasion, instead of relying solely on an electric guitar, you will find the sound of the acoustic guitar comes through very powerful within her music.

Butterfly Boucher - "I can't make me"

Many children may know Butterfly Boucher from the blockbuster hit "Shrek." In "Shrek 2" Butterfly Boucher covered the song "Changes."  Which is featured on the soundtrack and is her most popular song on itunes.

Check out more of her music on her myspace and buy her music on itunes.
